When Yaakov met Mendel, the love of food, flavour and quality cooking discovered logistical brilliance, and Craft Caterers was born.

After opening Craft Caterers we soon discovered that we shared a love for events with a twist, food with an extra kick, and an atmosphere that is relaxed and laid-back, but still unique and exciting. And that is how we roll at Craft, providing a service and style that is a breath of fresh air in a world of traditional catering.

Director of Operations

At 14, Mendel kicked off his career in a Manchester pizza joint alongside Yaakov. Over the years, he went from managing an E-commerce business to overseeing a textile factory in China, while working in clubs as a DJ in his spare time. He and Yaakov had talked about teaming up for a while, but it did’nt materialise till December 2021. Now, they’ve finally struck a winning balance – Yaakov runs the kitchen, while Mendel handles operations. Together, they form a dynamic and ambitious team.

Montreal-born, Yaakov immersed himself in the culinary world from childhood. With over 20 years in the industry and an apprenticeship under Yotam Ottolenghi, his passion lies in creating simple, flavor-focused dishes, that make people smile. Co-founding Craft, Yaakov and Mendel disregarding the ‘rulebook’ of what Kosher catering should look like, redefining it into something new and fresh. They’re a dynamic team, with no rules – just a love for what they do, and a commitment to making each client’s experience special.
